Space laboratories such as the International Space Station (ISS)

With the building up of the ISS in outer space, an international laboratory for experiments and production of highly valuable medicine, pharmaceutics, and other chemical products has now become available. This, of course, raises a special category of legal and policy questions. How to ensure the protection of intellectual property rights in this international environment? How to ensure a workable environment for longer-duration human presence in outer space? How would damages sustained in the course of any ISS activity, in space or on the ground, be compensated? If you are interested in the possibilities which such space laboratories as the ISS can offer you, you need to deal with such issues in the most efficient and appropriate manner – and preferably at the outset.

Black Holes is well-placed to support any activities in this area, as Frans von der Dunk has been involved in a number of research and study projects on the issue and thus collected the expertise relevant for the purpose of Black Holes’ clients.
