International financing of space activities
As more and more private companies become involved in space activities and, especially, their applications, the legal and policy issues concerning the financing of such activities, and the instruments for interesting financiers and the capital markets in taking part therein, become increasingly important. General concepts such as equity financing and offering collaterals turn out to work quite differently in the international environment for financing satellite operations in outer space – and UNIDROIT is currently engaged in a difficult and complicated process to harmonise this international environment. Are such efforts going to be successful? Are they sufficient? What rules apply in their absence? How does this growing body of private (international) law interfere with the existing body of public international space law?
Let Black Holes be your assistant in finding out the answers to such questions as the above, as it has a number of projects in its portfolio which have already dealt with the international aspects of financing in this area.
