Space Tourism and The Law

More than a handful of tourists have already flown on the International Space Station – although against mindboggling fees. Very soon, however, it is likely that suborbital flights into the edge of outer space become available, and much more affordably so.

As this kind of space activity was not foreseen by the main international space treaties, this Tutorial addresses legal rules applicable to this activity to a large extent in a national context within the boundaries of international law.
